Alaska Adopts Provisions Regarding Notarial Acts

The Alaska Office of the Lieutenant Governor recently adopted provisions relating to notarial acts performed for remotely located individuals. These provisions implement Alaska House Bill 124 and are effective on January 1, 2021.

The provisions establish requirements, procedures, and fees for notaries public to conduct remote online notarization.  These requirements, procedures, and fees include communication technology, identity proofing, and forms of notarial certificates for notarial acts performed remotely or outside the physical presence of a notary public by means of communication technology.
