California Consumer Privacy Act Goes Live
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which went into effect on January 1, 2020, is the most comprehensive privacy law enacted in the United States to date. The CCPA gives California consumers new privacy rights and it imposes obligations on businesses that collect, share, or sell consumers’ personal information. WBK previously covered the CCPA, including the 2018 amendments, the 2019 amendments, and the California Attorney General’s proposed regulations.
