CFPB Adds To Senior Leadership and Executive Teams
On May 13, 2019, the CFPB announced additions to its senior leadership and executive teams.
Senior Leadership Team Additions
- Kate Fulton will serve as the Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Ms. Fulton will manage the Operations Division. Ms. Fulton previously served at the Bureau in various capacities, including as Senior Counsel in the Legal Division and in the Office of Supervision, Enforcement and Fair Lending, and as Deputy Chief of Staff. For the last year, she has also served as the Acting Chief Operating Officer.
- Yasaman Sutton will serve as Senior Advisor and Counselor to the Director. Ms. Sutton has 14 years of experience working in the Executive Branch, providing “advice and representation on legal matters affecting the Office of Management and Budget, the White House, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Justice.”
Executive Team Additions
- Melissa Brand will serve as the Director of the Office of Civil Rights. She has been the CFPB’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Complaints Program Manager since 2016. Ms. Brand previously worked at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for almost 10 years, where she worked as an Administrative Judge and wrote federal sector appellate decisions on discrimination complaints concerning federal employees.
- Jim Rice will serve as the Assistant Director of the Office of Servicemember Affairs. Mr. Rice brings over 30 years of experience serving in the U.S. Army in numerous capacities—including as an enlisted medic, the Director of the U.S. Army Wounded Warrior program, and the Chief of the Health Services Division for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
