CFPB Issues 2023 HMDA Transactional and Institutional Coverage Charts

The CFPB recently released two flowcharts to assist the industry in understanding, implementing, and complying with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Regulation C.

The Institutional Coverage chart outlines the criteria for determining whether an institution is covered by Regulation C.  The Transactional Coverage chart explains how to determine whether a transaction involves a covered loan and whether it meets the applicable loan-volume thresholds.
