CFPB Issues RFI on Guidance and Implementation Support
The CFPB issued its latest request for information (RFI) on its guidance and implementation support. The CFPB is seeking comments and information that may assist in the assessing the overall effectiveness and accessibility of its guidance materials and activities, including implementation support. It is also considering whether it would be appropriate to make changes to the formats, processes and delivery methods for providing this guidance, and whether it would be appropriate to make changes to the disclaimers used on certain forms of guidance.
In particular, the CFPB seeks comments that provide:
- Specific discussions of the positive and negative aspects of the CFPB’s guidance materials and activities (including implementation support);
- Specific suggestions regarding any potential updates or modifications to the CFPB’s approach to providing guidance (including implementation support), and including, in as much detail as possible, supporting data or other information on impacts and costs, or information concerning alignment with the processes of other agencies; and
- Specific identification of any aspects of the CFPB’s approach to guidance (including implementation support) provided by the CFPB that should not be modified, and including, in as much detail as possible, supporting data or other information on impacts and costs, or information concerning alignment with the processes of other agencies.
Comments are due July 2, 2018.
This is the tenth in a series of RFIs announced as part of Acting Director Mick Mulvaney’s call for evidence to ensure the CFPB is fulfilling its proper and appropriate functions.
