Fannie Mae Again Extends Eligibility Dates for Loans in Forbearance
Fannie Mae has updated Lender Letter 2020-06 again to extend the eligibility dates for loans in forbearance related to COVID-19. The new end date for eligible notes is October 31, 2020, and with an updated delivery date of December 31, 2020.
The guidance, first issued in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, allows loans that have been placed in forbearance after closing, but prior to loan sale, to be eligible for sale to Fannie Mae. Under the updated guidance, loans in forbearance related to COVID-19 must have note dates between February 1, 2020, and October 31, 2020.
