Fannie Mae Issues Policy Reminder and Helpful Resources in Light of Record Lending

In light of record high loan originations in recent months, Fannie Mae has issued an Appraisal Risk Management Policy Reminders and Resources Letter, (LL-2021-01).  To support lenders in this busy time, this Letter provides clarity on how lenders can comply with Appraiser Independence Requirements (AIR), provides quality control best practices, and insight into the resources available to lenders in order to avoid the most commonly seen appraisal defects.
