FDIC Publishes Fall Edition of Supervisory Insights
On December 23, 2019, the FDIC released its Fall 2019 Supervisory Insights, which contains two articles of interest to bank management.
The first article, “Commercial Real Estate Loan Concentration Risk Management,” analyzes the extent of commercial real estate lending exposure across the banking industry. It also looks at loan risk management and governance trends and findings from recent risk management supervisory activities.
The second article, “Leveraged Lending: Evolution, Growth and Heightened Risk,” briefly describes the leveraged lending market, including its potential risks, and reviews current underwriting practices in the area from examinations at state nonmember insured depository institutions and the Shared National Credit Program.
The “Regulatory and Supervisory Roundup” section takes a look at regulations recently released and other items of interest.
