FFIEC Publishes 2020 HMDA Data on Mortgage Lending
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) recently released Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Modified Loan Application Register data for 2020. The publically-accessible data include loan-level information filed by approximately 4,400 financial institutions, modified to protect privacy. The data can be accessed on FFIEC’s HMDA platform.
The 2020 HMDA information is also expected to become available later this year in several additional formats, including: a nationwide loan-level dataset containing aggregate and disclosure reports with summary information by geography and lender; the HMDA Data Browser, which will allow users to create custom datasets and reports; and a Data Point article highlighting key trends in the annual data.
