FHA Announces Updates to its Single Family Housing Policy Handbook

On June 30, 2016, FHA published several updates to its Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. The following revisions are now incorporated into the Handbook’s portable document format (pdf) and online format:

• Electronic Appraisal Delivery (EAD) portal guidance, published in Mortgagee Letter 2015-08 on March 26, 2015, that became effective for new originations with case numbers assigned on or after June 27, 2016;
• Student Loan guidance, published in Mortgagee Letter 2016-08 on April 13, 2016, that became effective for case numbers assigned on or after June 30, 2016;
• The Claims and Disposition sections for Title II forward mortgages. The effective dates for these sections remain September 30, 2016, as previously announced;
• The revised Table of Contents for subsections under Section II: Origination Through Post-Closing/Endorsement (Origination through Endorsement), as announced on March 14, 2016.
