Freddie Mac CEO to Step Down

Freddie Mac CEO Donald Layton is stepping down from his position in the second half of 2019. He has been the chief executive of the company since 2012. Freddie Mac’s board of directors has begun its search for a successor and will be considering candidates from both inside and outside the company. Additionally, the board announced that it promoted David Brickman, former head of its multifamily business to the position of president. He is considered the top internal candidate to succeed Layton.
