FTC Extends Deadline for Comments on Proposed Changes to Safeguards Rule

The FTC recently announced a 60-day extension of the deadline for public comment on amendments it intends to make to its Safeguards Rule implementing the GLBA. 

The deadline for submitting comments on the proposed changes to the Safeguards Rule will be extended to August 2, 2019.  A notice of this extension will be published in the Federal Register.  The June 3, 2019 deadline for public comment on the FTC’s proposed changes to the Privacy Rule, however, has not been extended.
