FTC Makes Consumer Complaint Data More Accessible

Beginning on October 16, 2018, the FTC will be making aggregated consumer complaint data accessible on a quarterly basis using a new interactive online tool.  The aggregated data still stored in the Consumer Sentinel Network Data Book, but previously data was available only on an annual basis.  Previous years Consumer Sentinel Network Data Books dating back to CY-2008 are still available here.

As part of the accessibility initiative, the FTC introduced their first Consumer Protection Data Spotlight.  These spotlights are intended to provide a detailed focus on a specific issues to reveal important stories of consumers.  The first Consumer Protection Data Spotlight addresses an increasingly prevalent scam where scammers demand payment by gift cards.
