Last Remaining Defendant in NAR Commission Lawsuit Settles
A large real estate brokerage, which was the final remaining defendant in the National Association of Realtors (NAR) broker commission antitrust lawsuit, settled with the plaintiffs for $250 million.
Prior coverage of the NAR commission lawsuit is available here. Plaintiffs in this class action lawsuit had previously settled with NAR and the other brokerage defendants after winning a substantial verdict at trial. With the additional $250 million settlement from the final defendant, the total value of all settlements in the case comes to approximately $877 million.
Now that all defendants in the case have settled, there is no remaining entity to pursue an appeal of the trial verdict. The settlements still need final approval from the court.
