Maryland Requires Notice of a Change in Information from Purchasers of Foreclosure Property
The governor of Maryland signed House Bill 78 on April 24, 2018. The bill requires the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (“Department”) to establish procedures which require a purchaser of foreclosure property to submit to the Foreclosure Property Registry (“Registry”) any change to the information initially required to be submitted to the Registry (i.e., name, address, telephone number, etc.). Once a change has been submitted, the Department must electronically notify authorized users from the county and, if appropriate, the municipal corporation where the property is located. This bill becomes effective on January 1, 2019.
