Mulvaney Appoints Brian Johnson to Acting Deputy Director of CFPB
On July 9, 2018, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection announced that acting Director “Mick” Mulvaney appointed Brian Johnson as acting Deputy Director. Johnson served as the Principal Policy Director at the Bureau, and was the first person hired by Mulvaney when Mulvaney was appointed as Director of the Bureau. The appointment follows the recent decision by Leandra English to resign her position as Deputy Director at the Bureau and drop her legal appeal challenging Mulvaney’s appointment by President Trump.
