North Carolina Increases Fees on Returned Checks

Effective October 1, 2019, the maximum fees for processing returned checks in North Carolina will increase from $25 to $35.

Senate Bill 529 became law automatically on July 5, 2019, after Governor Roy Cooper did not sign the bill within the prescribed timeframe.
