OCC Issues Revised Fair Lending Booklet

The OCC recently issued a revised version of the “Fair Lending” booklet of the Comptroller’s Handbook.  The booklet assists OCC examiners in assessing fair lending risk and evaluating compliance with the Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and their implementing regulations.

The revised booklet reflects changes to laws and regulations since the booklet was last published in January 2010.  The updates are intended to reflect the current OCC approach to fair lending examinations.  The revisions also include clarifying edits regarding supervisory guidance, sound risk management practices, applicable legal standards, and risk factors for a variety of examination scenarios.
