RI Temporarily Permits Remote Online Notarizations in Response to COVID-19

On April 3, 2020, the Rhode Island Secretary of State (SOS) announced that it has collaborated with the Governor’s office to temporarily allow remote online notarizations in Rhode Island until the COVID-19 state of emergency is lifted.  

The new requirements for conducting remote online notarizations in Rhode Island are provided in the SOS’s revised Standards of Conduct for Notaries Public and the Remote Online Notarization Temporary Performance Guide.
