Weiner Brodsky Kider PC’s financial services practice includes a focus on reverse mortgage lending and servicing. Our attorneys have been involved in the reverse mortgage industry since its inception and have developed a profound understanding of the business.
Weiner Brodsky Kider serves as outside General Counsel to the reverse mortgage industry’s trade association, the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA). Our clients include the full array of reverse mortgage industry participants, including originators, servicers, investors and service providers.
We counsel clients on all aspects of the reverse mortgage business, including structuring and documenting new mortgage and financial service products and arrangements, and responding to Federal Housing Authority (FHA) changes to the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) program. We secure regulatory approvals, including general and reverse mortgage state-specific mortgage banking licenses and FHA and Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae) approvals. We also represent clients in mergers, acquisitions, public offerings and loan and mortgage servicing purchase transactions.
Weiner Brodsky Kider provides defensive litigation, response to administrative reviews, enforcement action defense and representation before government agencies – including but not limited to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We also offer state legislative tracking, interpretation and advice.
